"Don't chuck it out when MR. FIX-IT can repair that old valuable appliance.

Older appliances are built to last, but sometimes they need a little tender loving care. Let MR. FIX-IT restore and bring those older appliances back to life !!!! "

Ira Gladstone, better known as "Mr. Fix-it" to Montrealers, has been giving live advice on a weekly basis for well over a decade on Montreal's top radio stations on "do-it-yourself" small appliance and electronic repairs.

Who We Are

He has been the voice for well over a decade on Montreal’s top radio stations on “do-it-yourself” small appliance and electronic repairs, and now, Ira Gladstone, better known as “Mr Fix-It” to Montrealers, has turned a sharp corner in his shop and veered strongly into the world of restoration.

But don’t worry folks, his shop is still around to serve your old appliances - if indeed you are fortunate to have those that were made back when......(you remember..? When your toaster or your iron weighed as much as a 20 lb weight; or when plastic was almost never synonymous with quality or durability......when companies took pride in what they manufactured and wanted your appliances to last for a lifetime, or longer....).

But come on, let’s look at a bright thought! Things are getting better and Ira and Mr. Fix-It are now focussing on the art of restoration....and it truly is an art!

How many times have any of you winced as you chipped your beloved Lladro or Royal Doulton figurine..? Or cringed at the sound of your great grandmother’s antique serving bowl colliding with a silver fork or spoon? Or stood heart-broken as your wedding gift of 12 Waterford crystal water goblets has now left you down to a mere 9 because 3 were accidentally thrown into the dish washer and did not survive the water’s turbulence? What about Thanksgiving 1997 when one of your guests at your festive meal accidentally cheered wine glasses with a seating partner and the spirit of the moment (not to mention the spirit of the alcohol) splintered the rims of the two glasses?

Are you like many of us who set things aside for that rainy day when perhaps we would find a place that could solve all these shattered moments? Well you are in luck! Ira Gladstone and his team of talented and professional wizards are now able to bring life back to all those nicked and chipped articles....

And, since “Extreme Make-overs” appear to hi-lite our world on a day-to-day basis, we introduce to you the make-over that will bring back to life, something - perhaps many things - you so dearly have treasured...

Company History

The family-run business began after WWll as the Gladstone Gift Shop, a Plateau area store that focussed on house-ware repair. The first Mr Fix-It, in the Snowdon area, expanded to include small appliance repairs. And now, in its present incarnation, Mr Fix-It is a wide-ranging restoration and repair shop. Expertise, customer loyalty, and a family atmosphere have always been company hallmarks, whether Ira Gladstone, his father, or his grandfather before him, were at the helm.
